Until recently, the shelter at Lyceum No. 1 in Podilsk, Odesa region, was unfit for use. However, thanks to the efforts of the local community and support from the DECIDE project, this protective facility has been given a new life. It is now more than just a shelter—it has become a modern educational space.

As part of the "DECIDE: RECONSTRUCTION" initiative, the shelter has undergone a complete transformation. Covering an area of 400 m², the renovated space now provides comfort and safety for over 1,000 students.

A major overhaul has turned the shelter into a place where students can learn, create, and feel safe. The updated environment includes modern equipment, ergonomic furniture, charging stations, laptops, and even a 3D printer, making it a fully functional educational hub.

The total cost of the project exceeded 6 million UAH, with 3.8 million UAH financed by the DECIDE project and the remaining amount contributed by the local community.

The "DECIDE: RECONSTRUCTION" initiative is part of the Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project, aimed at supporting communities in Chernihiv, Odesa, and Poltava regions in restoring schools and equipping school shelters.
