In mountain communities, the issue of establishing inclusive resource centres is particularly sensitive, as specialists, infrastructure and resources are not always available.
The inclusive resource centre in the Verkhovyna community in Ivano-Frankivsk region had been serving children with special needs in the Vorokhta community for two years before the communities were able to sign a cooperation agreement. This was made possible in part thanks to the expert support of the DECIDE Project.
Today, the Verkhovyna community is considering signing a cooperation agreement on the IRC with other communities with which it does not yet have agreements. This is all for the benefit of the children.
This story is not just about the partnership between two communities. It is about the ability to listen, about trust and about access to quality services for children with special educational needs.
