We are grateful to every single person who voted for our initiative!

‘For us, this award is, above all, recognition of the work done by the large team of DECIDE Project in partnership with the team of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, our mentors and coordination groups in the regions, communities, schools and businesses, and everyone who believed that careers guidance should become an integral part of the education system.

Today, we can see that careers guidance in Ukraine is no longer just a single activity during lessons or a career choice test. It is gradually transforming into a comprehensive system that helps adolescents to get to know themselves better, understand their strengths, and see real opportunities for development.

During the past year, all regions of Ukraine, nearly 400 communities and career coordinators, more than 700 schools, more than 2,300 career counsellors, and more than a thousand businesses have joined the national pilot programme. But the most important result is the tens of thousands of adolescents who have become more confident in their own abilities and can see the link between their education today and their professional success tomorrow,’ said Valentyna Poltorak, DECIDE Project Manager.

It was achieved through effective cooperation between educational institutions, local governments, businesses, employers, and partners, who united for a common goal:

  • to help schoolchildren discover themselves better and realise their strengths;

  • to introduce children and teenagers to the modern world of professions;

  • to show them opportunities for learning, development, and professional success in their own community and in Ukraine!

Only by joining forces is it possible to create a really effective career guidance system. Therefore, this success is a testament to the power of partnership, shared responsibility, and faith in the future of youth in Ukraine.

The DECIDE project is implemented by NGO DOCCU and PHZH International Projects in Education with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
