The Swiss-Ukrainian DECIDE project won the ‘Build Back Better’ category of the 2025 Osvitoria.Media Award during the ‘Teachers of the Future’ festival!
This category recognises projects that take innovative approaches to rebuilding and creating access to education for children in regions affected by war.
The DECIDE:VIDBUDOVA initiative exemplifies such an effort!
In 20 partner communities across the Odesa, Poltava and Chernihiv regions, the project team has established 24 shelters in collaboration with local authorities that function as fully equipped underground schools for over 17,000 children and teenagers.
As part of the DECIDE:VIDBUDOVA initiative, Gymnasium No. 13 in Chernihiv, which serves children from destroyed schools, has been completely renovated, and the restoration of the Inclusive Resource Centre in Borodianka is nearing completion.
The total amount of support provided has reached UAH 170 million! All of this has been made possible thanks to the support and partnership of the Swiss people.
