The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the relevant resolution on the distribution of subsidies.

This refers to support for the New Ukrainian School reform, which will enable comprehensive modernisation of the educational infrastructure and environment.

The majority of the funding – UAH 1.3 billion – is allocated to modernising the material and technical base of educational institutions: purchasing modern computer and multimedia equipment, equipment for natural science classrooms, creating and developing STEM programmes and art spaces.

Another UAH 1.2 billion will be allocated to support pilot lyceums of specialised senior schools. The priority is to modernise science laboratories and develop STEM education. Lyceums that operate remotely will have the opportunity to invest in digital solutions.

A separate priority is the development of ‘Defence of Ukraine’ centres, with UAH 500 million allocated for schools and inter-school resource centres.

Note: to receive a subsidy, co-financing from local budgets is required, premises must be renovated at the expense of communities to install equipment, and purchases must be made openly and transparently – in line with Ukraine Facility requirements.

The new distribution of funds is a continuation of a consistent policy of supporting communities in implementing specialised senior school reform and strengthening the sustainability of the national education system.

We are awaiting the publication of the Resolution and are already preparing detailed infographics for you!

The DECIDE project is implemented by NGO DOCCU and PHZH International Projects in Education with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
