The third module of the large-scale training “Safety in shelters” has started — “Fundamentals of civil protection. Shelters in educational institutions.”

During the online sessions, participants will explore the following topics:

·        the principles, structure, and objectives of Ukraine’s civil protection system;

·        actions a teacher should take upon hearing the “air raid alert” signal;

·        requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and use of shelters/protective structures.

Participants will also receive practical guidance on behaviour during emergencies that occur in a shelter/protective structure, learn what items a schoolchild should have in an emergency “go-bag,” and become familiar with response algorithms for various threats, such as shelling, or chemical, biological, or nuclear hazards.

All this knowledge will be mastered by our educators by the end of May. Upon successful completion of the third module, participants of the “Safety in Shelters” training will receive certificates.

We would like to remind you that the ‘Long-Term Sustainability Programme’ project is being implemented by the DOCCU NGO with financial support from Education Cannot Wait in cooperation with the international non-governmental organisation Finn Church Aid Ukraine.
